Communications Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION
The National Federation of Republican Women is seeking a part-time rapid response and multimedia coordinator to oversee media relations; to manage social media; and assist in audio and video production. The Communications Coordinator will work out of the headquarters in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Developing and writing news releases, op-eds, feature articles and other materials for external sources
- Managing social media accounts
- Assisting with video and audio production
- Developing and writing speeches
- Facilitating media requests and inquiries
- Exploring and developing earned media opportunities
- Coordinating interviews for the NFRW president
- Providing general creative support for staff and members, as needed
- Assist in organizational events

REQUIRED SKILLS
Candidates for this position should have the following background, experience, and skills:
- Excellent writing, editing, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Digital communications and social media experience, with proficiency in related software
- Knowledge of audio visual production

- Knowledge of and an interest in government and politics
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and priorities efficiently and professionally in a deadline environment
- A self-starter who is detail-oriented, highly-organized and creative, and who enjoys working in a collaborative environment
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
A minimum of one year of communications/public relations experience
